Phil Scrafton, our Fan Elected Director was keen to accept an offer by Damian Froggatt to have a look around the LNER to see ongoing work and investment. Now that the resurfacing and traffic, pedestrian and cycle infrastructure is completed along Sincil Bank, which improves accessibility and alleviates some of the flood risk issues, investment is well underway at the Community Hub to deliver the Gateway project. This will deliver major environmental improvements at the stadium arrival point with properly surfaced car parking, cycle parking and EV charging within a carefully designed lit and landscaped setting.
Enhancements in the ground focus on improved catering facilities for home and away supporters as well as further improvements to accommodate disabled away fans.
Sadly, for now at least, the unbelievably manicured turf that we saw on the last day of the season is no more as the annual service and resurfacing work is underway in preparation for a perfect playing pitch for the beginning of next season.
There are a few changes that fans will notice and all are aimed at continually improving things for everyone who visits the stadium.
Thanks to Damian and Up The Imps!
