Red Imps Community Trust Board Hosts Independent Football Regulator…

‘Fan engagement and consultation will be a key part of the Independent Football Regulator’s work’ was one of the key themes Board members of The Red Imps Community Trust and Fan Advisory Board took away from a meeting last week.

The online event on 12th November was held with the Martyn Henderson, Chief Operating Officer of the newly established Independent Football Regulator (IFR). Martyn is meeting fan groups across country to share progress on the IFR priorities as well as listening to the opportunities and concerns fans see as the new regime settles in.

The discussion covered a range of topics from the new club licensing regime that will be introduced over the next couple of seasons, club ownership & financial sustainability, and the focus on an IFR core objective regarding club heritage.

Julian Buttery, who has recently been leading the Trust’s engagement with the IFR, said colleagues came away from the meeting with a clearer view of the IFR focus and priorities and that this was the start of an important relationship for clubs and fan groups alike. “We were delighted to host Martyn, and this is the start of an important relationship for our fan groups as well as the club itself. We will keep our members updated as things progress and answer any queries fans may have as best we can”.

THE IFR was formally established on 1st November and has a new website:
