RED IMPS COMMUNITY TRUST TO RECOGNISE THE HISTORIC FORMATION OF LINCOLN CITY FOOTBALL CLUB

At 10.30am on Saturday 30th September the Mayor of Lincoln Cllr Biff Bean will unveil a plaque commemorating the original formation of Lincoln City Football Club.

The Moshulu shop at 251 High Street Lincoln is the site of the former Monson Arms Public House where in July 1884 Messrs Mortimer, Sharpley-Bainbridge, and Strawson set up the club that nowadays plays a huge part in many people’s lives. Trust board members, Football Club personnel, guests and fans will be present for the unveiling. The Moshulu shop is located on the west side of High Street just north of its junction with Claskegate.

Of course any fans and others who wish to witness this event are welcome to come along and join us in this short ceremony.

This action is part of the Red Imps Community Trust’s heritage remit where the history of the club is recognised in a variety of ways. This includes the Trust’s very popular on-line museum at www.rictmuseum.co.uk
