Five games unbeaten so naturally us Lincoln City fans can find no wrong with the world. I hope you’re well and hope too the following draft is OK for you. As follows:

It’s certainly been a busy few days as a Trust bod. The club AGM on Thursday saw the Fans’ Share proposal approved by shareholders. Held by the Red Imps Community Trust it means that some future plans for heritage and ground relocation changes will be judged by our members, the fans. Few clubs if any have this right granted to their supporters. Also, club rules mean that some directors have to retire by rotation and be voted in again, and I’m pleased to say our Trust position was ratified once more.
Presentations on the football side followed by Jez and Michael which were superb. Not one person watching thought otherwise. It’d be good if every fan could witness them, especially the occasionally critical keyboard managers.
The whole of Friday was spent at the Lincoln City Development Day in the Vice-Chancellor’s boardroom at Lincoln University. The local and national financial situation now and in the future was a huge topic. The board are ambitious that we reach the Championship and, whether it happens or not, the monetary implications need planning. Being a sustainable business at any level and the still unresolved New Deal were also discussed at great length.
We heard about a range of exciting capital proposals from Jez and the facility and commercial guys – some huge and some more modest. Then we heard again, in more depth, the football aspects of the club including recruitment, style of play, and the core reasons for our playing philosophy.
Our Trust did it’s thing in the Fan Village on Saturday, much of it focussed on adding to young supporters experiences including in the Lincoln City Foundation’s Poacher’s Den. And there was a football match too, in case I forget. A very good one.
This breathless account of those few days is to let you know how involved you’ll be if you fancy my job. The Elected Supporter/Director role is available this summer as I stand down. The whole point of a Trust is for as many fans as possible to have the chance of involvement in the running of their club. Let us know if you fancy this amazing experience and we’ll tell you more.
