Imps Director with fan engagement responsibility, David Lowes, photographed here with Trust officials to acknowledge the overwhelming approval at the recent LCFC AGM of the Fans’ Share held by RICT

At its AGM on 08/02/24, the shareholders of Lincoln City Football Club Company Limited were invited to approve changes to the club’s constitution, in order create a Golden Share (known as “The Fans’ Share”), to be held and administered by us here at the Red Imps Community Trust. Those changes would only take effect if at least 75% of the votes cast were in favour. At the AGM, over 99% of the votes actually cast were in favour. 97 shareholders were present in person, with another 5 being represented by proxies. 100 shareholders voted for the changes, one voted against and one abstained from voting. The Fan’s Share has accordingly now been issued to us.

This is our official response to the decision made at the AGM.

  • We are truly humbled by the overwhelming strength of support given by the club’s shareholders
  • We are immensely grateful to those shareholders for the faith shown in us
  • We will strive to ensure that such faith is always well-founded
  • We praise the club for leading the way, implementing fan engagement and heritage protection measures before it and its competitors are actually forced to do so
  • We praise the club for going above and beyond the minimum requirements that are expected to be imposed on it and its competitors for fan engagement and for heritage protection
  • We are not aware of any other professional football club that will have better fan engagement and heritage protection measures than Lincoln City, save for Exeter City, which is currently owned by its supporters’ trust
  • Anyone who would like to see further details and to find out more should read our separate statement below
