Our Trust’s official charity partner for 2024, Lincoln City Foundation, has developed an incredibly impressive range of initiatives for the benefit of the entire community, including Lincoln City fans. We highlight here another of those initiatives: Team Talk.

What is Team Talk?

It’s the Foundation’s range of programmes for people who might be struggling with their mental health. It’s for people who have a storm brewing in their life, or who are going through a storm or who have been through one. Peer-to-peer support, participation in sport and physical activity are used to break down the barriers that prevent people from asking for help, whilst also offering a network of social support. Safe spaces and physical activity sessions are provided. The Foundation’s links to the club enable it to help very many people in the area, but the predominant focus is on males, because 80% of suicides in Lincolnshire are male.

Drop-in sessions are held in the Foundation’s Hub (next to the ticket office at the LNER Stadium) from 6.00pm to 6.45pm (followed by structured sessions from 7.00pm to 8pm) on the first Wednesday of each month. That venue will however move to the new building behind the Stacey West Stand when construction is completed.

Free support sessions for males who are at least 16 years of age

Talking groups are held in the Branston Legends Lounge (under the GBM Stand at the LNER Stadium) from 7.00pm to 9.00pm every Monday, delivered in partnership with Andy’s Man Club.

Participants will be split into mixed ability teams, for friendly managed games. Bring some water, to keep hydrated. Arrive dressed ready to play, but do not wear studded boots. The fee per session is £3.

How can donations be made to help Team Talk?

There are numerous ways to support the Foundation financially, including before all home games via a collection bucket that can be found in the Trust’s pod in the University of Lincoln Fan Village. Donations will support the ongoing delivery costs of the Team Talk activities, including venue hire, equipment and refreshments.
