Peter Costello was an attacking player who appeared for both Peterborough United and the Imps during his career. He started out with Bradford City and then played for Rochdale before joining Posh in March 1991. Peter was loaned to Lincoln six months later but returned to London Road after making three appearances. In September 1992 he arrived at Sincil Bank on a permanent transfer and appeared regularly in his first season at City mainly in the number 10 shirt. He made further appearances in 1993-94 before moving on. He later played non-league football and in Hong Kong before returning here and assisting Boston United when they won promotion into the Football League.

Andy Hutchinson was a local born striker who was a trainee with City and broke into the first team at the end of the 2008-09 season. He was a teenager when he made his senior debut as a substitute against Luton and made his first start in the following game at Bradford City. He scored City’s only goal in a 2-1 defeat making a piece of history as he was just 17 years and 34 days old making him the youngest player to score for City in a Football League game. Andy made further first team appearances over the following two seasons before moving on and playing for Lincoln United.

Trevor Swinburne began his long goalkeeping career as an apprentice with Sunderland in the late 1960s and finished it with the Imps 20 years later. During his time at Sunderland he was understudy to Jim Montgomery and made several first team appearances before moving on to Carlisle United in the summer of 1977. Trevor made over 250 first team appearances for Carlisle during his six years with the club and was an ever-present in their team which won promotion to the old Second Division in 1981-82. He then played for Brentford and Leeds United before signing for City in February 1986 as a replacement for Stuart Naylor. Trevor made regular appearances for the Imps until retiring in the summer of 1987. He was the first chairman of the Lincoln City Former Players Association when it was formed in 2017 and was a key figure in developing the organisation and has recently returned to the committee.
